Product Introduction:
Bulk density refers to the volume of a certain amount of powder filled in a specific container after being vibrated at a certain frequency and amplitude. When the volume of the powder no longer decreases, the volume of the powder is read, and then divided by its weight to obtain the bulk density. The BT-300 series bulk density tester is an instrument developed by Dandong Bait Instrument Co., Ltd. specifically for testing the bulk density of powders. It includes BT-301 (single cylinder), BT-302 (double cylinder), and BT-303 (triple cylinder). This instrument complies with Chinese national standard GB/T 21354-2008 and standard ISO3953:1993, as well as US Pharmacopeia regulations on drug bulk density, making it a universal bulk density instrument. In addition, the BT-300 series adopts Bait's patented horizontal rotation technology, which performs horizontal rotation while vibrating up and down to keep the surface of the powder in the measuring cylinder flat, effectively improving measurement accuracy. To improve efficiency, Bait has designed BT-302 bulk density tester that can simultaneously test 2 samples and BT-303 bulk density tester that can simultaneously test 3 samples. The BT-300 series bulk density testers are suitable for non-metallic powders, metallic powders, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, batteries, abrasives, scientific research teaching fields etc., making them ideal instruments for testing bulk densities in powder industry.
Operating Steps:
Prepare Measuring Cylinder: Select a suitable measuring cylinder according to sample requirements; clean it thoroughly and let it dry or perform drying treatment if necessary. The selected volumetric capacity depends on loose packing densities of samples as shown in table below.
Prepare Sample: Weigh out sample using milligram balance; mass (m) should be determined based on loose packing densities as shown in table below:

Put the weighed powder into a clean graduated cylinder, and try to keep the surface of the powder as level as possible. Then fix the graduated cylinder on the seat and tighten it. The specific steps are shown in the figure below:
Determine the volume of compacted powder after vibration: If after vibration, the upper surface of the sample in the graduated cylinder is level, directly read out volume V; if not level, use the average value of readings at highest point and lowest point to determine compacted volume V.
Reading accuracy: When using a 100ml graduated cylinder, accurate reading of compacted volume after vibration is 0.5ml; when using a 25ml graduated cylinder, accurate reading of compacted volume after vibration is 0.1ml.
Calculate bulk density: Test three times continuously with the same sample, calculate bulk densities ρ1, ρ2, and ρ3 for each time separately, then take an average of these three test results to obtain bulk density result for this sample. The calculation method for individual bulk density is as follows:
